An orthopantomogram (OPG) is a panoramic scanning dental X-ray of the upper and lower jaws. Another term that is frequently used as a trading name is orthopantomography or Panorex. It depicts a two-dimensional, flattened perspective of a half-circle stretching from ear to ear. The maxilla (upper jaw) and mandible (lower jaw) are visible in the viewing region of panoramic X-rays, which allow pictures from many angles to be captured to create a composite panoramic image.
